The Living Systems Approach: A New Software Design Paradigm for the 21st Century and Beyond

Systems Management Institute Press · Oct 18, 1989

Living Systems Process Analysis (Collen, 1987) serves as the mechanism for making design defensible. This is so in that Living Systems Process Analysis makes design measurable and therefore meaningful in terms of design effectiveness. The author suggests that while Collen here refers to Living Systems Process Analysis as a tool employed in the evaluation of organizational effectiveness, we can go beyond mere evaluation and find other worthwhile uses for Living Systems Process Analysis during the examination of design as the "creative-like" function of any human activity system.
